Thanks For Making Our Lucky Ant Campaign A Success!

hi fish eaters :-)

thanks to all of you amazing fish lovers out there – friends & family, members of our NYC CSF, in our greater NYC seafood circle, and across the world – we made it past stage 1 of our lucky ant campaign and raised over $5350 to put towards our new kitchen move!

we couldn’t have done this without you and look forward to making you proud by continuing towards our goal of bringing local, responsible seafood to all of NYC. and we hope to thank all of you in person soon at the oysters & cocktails event, fish butchery classes, neighborhood pick-ups, or raw bar home delivery. for those of you who support us and our mission from outside of new york — there are some “what a catch” t-shirts and Village Fishmonger recipe books on their way to you and a rain check for a fish feast when you’re in NYC next!

and if you weren’t able to pledge in time to take advantage of our tasty rewards, we are offering additional tickets to the oysters & cocktails event on March 26th on brown paper tickets and due to the popularity of the fish butchery classes, we are scheduling additional classes through the Spring (email us at info@villagefishmongernyc.com to inquire about participating).

Shucks Again!

We had such an awesome turnout at our Aw Shucks, Sandy! event that we decided to team up again with Evelyn Drinkery for another oyster & cocktail party!  There’s certainly a lot to celebrate — Village Fishmonger CSF’s 6-month anniversary (est. September 24, 2012) and Evelyn Drinkery’s nomination to TimeOut New York’s Best New Cocktail Bar list (vote for them now!).

The event will be held on Tuesday, March 26th from 6pm-9pm (or until we run out of those little suckers!).  Advance tickets are now available through our Lucky Ant campaign – $50 will get you 2 tickets, which includes 24 oysters (12 per person) and 2 specialty cocktails (1 per person).

We’ll be featuring oysters from Maxwell ShellfishParsons Seafood and others!  Partygoers will also have a chance to speak with our shellfish farmers and learn the intricacies behind spawning shellfish and “merroir“.

OR, if you prefer slurping up your shellfish in the comfort of your own home, we’re offering home delivery (to Manhattan or Brooklyn) of a raw bar platter, also through our Lucky Ant campaign (consists of 2 dozen oysters, 1 dozen littleneck clams, 1.25 lb lobster, and an assortment of condiments).

More Than One Way To Skin A Monkfish…

Want to learn what it takes to skin a monkfish?  How about fleecing a fluke and shucking some shellfish?  Some lucky pledgers are gonna learn how plus get tips on tools for the home fishmonger, how to handle & store seafood for the best results and more.  And if the the winds are favorable and the sea is generous that day…we might even have pledgers help break down a whole tuna or swordfish (see our very own Ben Smallman in action with said swordfish in the video below)!

this evening of learning and doing is available now for $100 for you and a friend (normally $200 value) only through our Lucky Ant campaign and will include complimentary beverages and small snacks and we’ll send you home with fish booty and recipes so you can get right down to cooking!

Luxury In-Home Dining Experience By Village Fishmonger!

what’s better than treating your friends to a lovely home cooked seafood dinner in your home?  having Village Fishmonger create a custom 4-course “fin-to-tail” sustainable menu and cooking it for you in the comfort of your own home!

imagine having a whole tuna or swordfish brought into your home and experiencing each part of the fish prepared in a different manner.  fish marrow shooters anyone??

this amazing evening of seafood is available for $1000 for four (normally a $1400 value) along with complimentary wine pairing, will include an informal discussion about your meal and sustainable sourcing of seafood by Village Fishmonger’s very own Sean Dixon (sustainability expert) and Ben Smallman (fishmonger & chef) and is available now only through our Lucky Ant campaign.
